Well it has been one hell of a week! Nothing overly exciting has happened but the work has been hard, 6 day weeks with 6am starts has seen me acquire a shit tonne of bruises, the beginnings of a tan and more bags under my eyes then a crazy cat lady who likes to carry her cats in bags. Image for emphasis.
I’ve found that Packing beetroot, carrots and lettuces gives you plenty of time to ponder things, decipher languages (my french has improved heaps!), sing songs in ones head and solve life’s mysteries. For example, if the force required to bite off a finger is the same as that required to bite a carrot, is me breaking carrots for the juice bag all day the same as me breaking fingers all day? Would love to know the answer. Here is a photo of the amazing sunrise over the carrot fields from the back of the tractor yesterday morning.
This Saturday in the fields was followed by a lovely wee celebration. Here is (a shoddy iPhone 4 photo of) Grandma extinguishing the candle on her 58th 21st birthday cake last night. I also made her my absolute favourite banana peanut butter cake, with Pics Really Good peanut butter of course. If you make it with another type of peanut butter we’re no longer friends. The lucky woman had 3 cakes though!! You’d think her birthday didn’t occur yearly.
I’m off for a walk in 38 degree heat, I may die but death of cabin fever is worse. Au revoir! Note: The original to this post was made on facebook, so has been back dated accordingly.
